This is a personal blog run by Terence Ang. I take your privacy seriously and aim to be transparent about what little data this site collects.
What data I collect
This site does not require you to create an account or log in to read content.
If you leave a comment, the comment form collects your name, email address, and optional website URL. Your email address is never published publicly. Your IP address may also be recorded as part of spam prevention.
If you contact me directly via email, I will only use your email address to reply to your message.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies to function correctly:
- Comment cookies — if you leave a comment, WordPress saves your name and email in cookies so you do not have to fill them in again next time. These cookies last for one year.
- Login cookie — if you log in (site admin only), a temporary cookie is set to confirm your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- Session cookies — WordPress sets a session cookie when you log in as an admin. It expires when you close your browser.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not affect your ability to read content on this site.
Spam protection
Comments are checked through Akismet for spam detection. This means comment data — including your name, email, IP address, and comment content — is sent to Akismet’s servers for analysis. Akismet is operated by Automattic. You can read their privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy.
Embedded content
Posts on this site may include embedded content such as videos or social media posts from third-party platforms (for example, YouTube or Twitter/X). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those websites directly. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content. I have no control over, or responsibility for, how those third parties handle your data.
How long your data is kept
Approved comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised automatically. If you request that a comment be deleted, I will do so promptly.
Your rights
If you have left a comment on this site, you may request an export or deletion of any personal data I hold about you. To do so, contact me at the email address listed on this site. I will respond within 30 days.
